When it comes to portable jobsite table saws, Dewalt has been the one to beat and its no surprise that competitors like Hitachi and Harbor Freights Hercules brand have brought some competing table saws with similar looks and features of their own. Grizzly now joins the group to battle against Dewalt with their own portable jobsite table saw with the Grizzly G0870 25 cm 2 HP 115V Portable Table Saw with Roller Stand.
The Grizzly G0870 25cm 2 HP 115V Portable table saw with roller stand looks like it is aimed at Dewalt’s flagship portable tablesaw model, the DWE7491RS. Grizzly incorporates many of Dewalt’s portable table saw features into their model, including a portable metal roll-cage design, an included stand, Dado capacity of up to 13.41 cm, and rack and pinion fencing system. However, the initial price is not good if you don’t live near a Grizzly location.
It is also worth mentioning that the Grizzlys table saw portable has a few features that Dewalt’s table saw with rolling base doesn’t have. These include variable speed settings between 2,000 and 4,000 RPM, which allows you to cut a wide range of materials, including plastics and laminates. It also comes with rear outfeed extension support of 10 cm which helps support cutting longer boards. Dewalts DWE7491RS model is superior to the Grizzly in terms of rip capacity. It measures 83 cm to Dewalts’ right, while Grizzlys measure 71 cm. 71 cm rip capacity is still 10 cm more than most table saws that only do up to 61 cm.
I am happy with what I have seen so far. The price is reasonable for the Dewalt’s feature set plus a few extras. If you don’t live near a Grizzly, shipping costs will make the Dewalt model with rolling stand more affordable.
