Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/10cm Miter Saw 2733-21 2733-20

Milwaukee is getting ready to launch a new cordless miter saw. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/10cm Miter Saw 2733-21 will be available in September 2017.

This model is lighter than the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 25 cm mitersaw. It weighs in at just 13 kg. Milwaukee states this is the lightest weight cordless miter saw. This is not true as TTIs own Ridgid 18V 7-1/10 cm miter saw weighs in at an even lower 11 kg. Similar miter saws from other competitors don’t fall far behind. Dewalts 20V mitersaw is 16 kg heavier at 133 kg, Makitas brushless Makitas mitersaw at 131kg is not even half a pound heavier and this is with 2 batteries!

Performance wise Milwaukee claims that their 7-1/10 cm M18 miter saw has best in class power with its 5,000 RPM no load speed. This is a significant increase in RPMs over Dewalts 20V mitersaw, although MakitasX2 mitersaw can reach 5,700 RPM. However, these RPMs are not ideal for peak performance or torque.

Moving on to its features, the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7-1/10 cm miter saw is a sliding miter saw and is also dual bevel. It has the double bevel feature that allows it to make beveled cuts on both the right and left sides. This is a feature that I missed on my Dewalt 20V miter saw. The Makita X2 mitersaw can technically bevel to either side, but it is limited to 0-5 degrees to its right. This makes it less practical when you have the full range of 0-45 degrees to your left. Just for reference Ridgids 18v miter saw is also a dual bevel and brushless.

Milwaukee’s 7-1/10cm miter saw has a slider that increases its cutting length and can crosscut 28 pieces of lumber at 90 degrees. It is now comparable to Ridgids model, which can cross-cut up to 7-1/10cm and Dewalts model 20V, which can crosscut up 20cm. Makitas cordless models have a wider crosscut capacity as the X2 mitersaw can cross-cut dimensional lumber up up to 11-3/10cm.

Vertical cut capacity is on the short side at only 3-

Milwaukee’s 7-1/10cm miter saw has a very long runtime. It can make 600 cuts into 3-1/10cm base molding, and 300 cuts into 24 on a single charge of a 5.0ah lithium battery. The kit will be equipped with a 5ah battery, instead of the 9.0ah that we saw in the 25 cm model.

The pricing is for the mitersaw baretool as well as the kit that includes a 5ah battery, charger and battery. This is cheaper than the larger 25 cm model however quite more than Dewalts 20V model and Ridgids model which is similarly equipped. The Milwaukee is a bit cheaper than Makitas X2 saw, which comes with a baretool. This saw doesn’t come with batteries and chargers at that price.
